ABOUT ME

Economist with more than 30 years of experience in analyzing the Mexican economy, Latin America, and Emerging Markets. I completed the doctorate program in economics at Temple University in Philadelphia and received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Madrid. As a professional economist, I was trained at the Center for Econometric Research on Mexico of the Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates, where I was the Director of Macroeconomic Analysis. I developed the first High-Frequency Forecasting Model for the Mexican Economy (Current Quarter Model) under the supervision of the Nobel Laureate in Economics Lawrence R. Klein from the University of Pennsylvania, who was my supervisor of dissertation. I have had the honor of being co-author with Lawrence Klein of a series of papers on modeling and analysis of the Mexican economy. I have been the national representative of Mexico in the World Macroeconometric Model-Project LINK of the United Nations. I have given presentations in several countries, including Mexico and the U.S. I am extensively quoted in national and international newspapers and magazines and I am also a contributor for radio and TV news. I worked for the Mexican government in the areas of economic policy and analysis.
